As Event Designers for Sublime Event Designs we are always trying to create new and unique experiences for every event we design.
Here are 5 things to consider when creating an immersive corporate event experience
Who are your attendees?
Understanding your attendees is a crucial aspect in creating an intimate immersive experience. Make sure the people coming to your event want to be there and when they arrive, they know it is a special event created exclusively for them. Provide your attendees with exclusive looks into their experience in the months and weeks leading up to the experience you’ve created.
Use Vivid Storytelling
Creative storytelling has a beginning, a middle, and an end that should leave you thinking. Great storytelling creates conversations and promotes innovative thinking.
Incorporate 4D
An immersive experience will enhance all the senses, and if done successfully, will linger in the memory for longer than an amazing performance, or impressive projection mapping on a wall. We recently designed an immersive experience tunnel for attendees at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando, FL. The moment the guests walked into the venue they were traveling through a mesmerizing Avatar themed experience tunnel. To achieve the surreal underworld effect you see in Avatar, we filled the event space with lush and leafy foliage and accent centerpieces with unique floral such as protea. While immersing our guest’s senses through the sound and smell of the rainforest.
Create an Emotional Experience
When you are able to have your attendees leave with goosebumps, then you have successfully created an emotional moment for them. Creating any great immersive experience, you do not want to shy away from emotion you want to bring emotion to life within your attendees. As designers it is our job to design experiences that align with the attendee’s emotional world. Ways to incorporate an emotional experience can be through stage design, providing attendees with a place to relax and recharge such as an interactive ball pit, or organizing a silent disco as a breakout session.
Think Outside the Box
If the real world doesn’t have corners, the real world is all around us. When creating experiences think outside the box when picking venues. Why only present your brand on a screen? Use these experiences to empower your audience. A great way to immerse your attendee in an experience through thinking outside the box is utilizing virtual reality. Virtual reality allows the attendees to navigate their own way through the world you create.
